Franklin hit Weston Ranch with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 10-9. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Jordan Paris was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Anthony Arias was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Weston Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Franklin, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-11 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Yellowjackets beat Weston Ranch by a score of 13-3 on Wednesday.
