Softball Game Preview: Benbrook Bobcats vs. Burkburnett Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Benbrook will face off against Burkburnett. The Bobcats will welcome the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Benbrook heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against Burkburnett, falling 13-2. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

For Burkburnett's part, Tatum Winney was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Reitz, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Burkburnett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benbrook only managed three hits.

The victory (which was Burkburnett's sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-16. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Benbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Benbrook hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .466. However, it's not like Burkburnett struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
