Softball Recap: Republic County Comes Up Short

Republic County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Bennington Bulldogs, falling 16-2.

Avery Stindt was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Lexie Smith also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Republic County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

While they had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
