Basketball Game Preview: Chinook Beeters vs. Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks

The Chinook Beeters will face off against the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Chinook is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Fairfield, who was ranked ninth at the time (Chinook was ranked fifth). Chinook fell 34-26 to Fairfield on Friday. The Beeters' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Chester-Joplin-Inverness hadn't done well against Box Elder recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Everything went Chester-Joplin-Inverness' way against Box Elder as Chester-Joplin-Inverness made off with a 65-39 win. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chinook, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Chinook didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Chester-Joplin-Inverness in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win.
