Basketball Recap: Winnfield Tigers vs. Mansfield Wolverines
The Winnfield Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Mansfield, posting a 89-56 win at home. Winnfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Winnfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cl Davis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Damascus Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Winnfield has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Mansfield, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
Winnfield will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jonesboro-Hodge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Mansfield, they will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
