Softball Recap: Sultan Beats South Whidbey for Their Fifth Straight Win

Sultan took a 17-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Whidbey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Turks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-3. The five-run effort marked the Turks' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win was the fifth in a row for Sultan, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for South Whidbey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Sultan will challenge Cedar Park Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for South Whidbey, they will take on Chimacum on Saturday. The Falcons are facing the Cowboys at the right time seeing as the Cowboys are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
