Baseball Recap: Central Cambria Extends Winning Streak to Three

Central Cambria put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bishop Carroll Huskies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Devils also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Joey Sedor looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Central Cambria let Rocco Barra and Logan Black run wild. Barra went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Black scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Black a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Snyder, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Central Cambria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Carroll only posted an OBP of .280.

Central Cambria's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.3 runs this season. As for Bishop Carroll, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central Cambria is set to take on their familiar foe Forest Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll will square off against rival Somerset at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
