Waterford is 8-2 against Fitch since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lancers will head out to challenge the Falcons at 4:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Waterford comes in on 12 and Fitch on six.

On Saturday, Waterford earned a 5-2 victory over Newtown.

Meanwhile, Fitch beat Griswold 5-2 on Saturday.

Hailey Merrill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fitch's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Marcella Rentas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Rentas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Waterford pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fitch, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Waterford came out on top in a nail-biter against Fitch in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
