Lutheran extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Kade Speckman. The Lutheran Lions came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 59-54 W against the Discovery Canyon Thunder thanks in part to Speckman, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points.

Another player making a difference was Owen Oldenburg, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last five games he's played.

Discovery Canyon lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aiden Hayler, who went 7-for-16 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Noah Eckels was another key player, going 8-for-10 on his way to 17 points.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Discovery Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will square off against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Lewis-Palmer likes a good challenge. As for Discovery Canyon, they will take on Cheyenne Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Discovery Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
