Softball Recap: Chillicothe Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Chillicothe strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Washington Blue Lions 25-3. With that victory, the Cavaliers brought their scoring average up to 8.3 runs per game.

Cambriana Rittinger made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cadie Boltenhouse was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella Canter, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Chillicothe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Chillicothe's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Washington, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chillicothe beat the Blue Lions by a score of 26-2 on Tuesday.
