Volleyball Recap: Nettleton Comes Up Short

Nettleton lost against Paragould back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Raiders fell 3-1 to the Rams. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nettleton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Aubrie Pool and Tabitha Cunningham, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kennedy Massey and her 17 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Nettleton's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Paragould, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 15-14-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nettleton will face off against rival Valley View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Paragould is set to challenge their familiar foe Batesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
