Basketball Recap: Frederick Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Frederick put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Green Mountain Rams by a score of 59-48. For the Golden Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 63-57 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Frederick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zach Burton led the charge by putting up 17 points and three steals. Those 17 points gave Burton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dante Lechuga, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Sam Mielenz and Jake Swanson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Mielenz earned 14 points and five rebounds, while Swanson went 8 of 16 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Frederick's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Green Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Frederick will square off against Air Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frederick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. As for Green Mountain, they will head out to face off against Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Green Mountain also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 52 points per game.
