Basketball Recap: Twiggs Academy Takes a Loss

Twiggs Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Covenant Academy. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to Covenant Academy from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Ryan Stevens was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards for Covenant Academy. Stevens has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben McGhee, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Twiggs Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Covenant Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Twiggs Academy will host Thomas Jefferson Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Covenant Academy, they will be playing at home against David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
