Volleyball Recap: Palmer Bulldogs vs. Riesel Indians
Palmer saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Riesel Indians by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
While Palmer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18.
Lexey Maxwell paced Palmer's offense, picking up eight kills. Maxwell got some help from Harley Ellis and her eight assists. Ellis also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zoe Zhanel, racking up two apiece.
Despite the loss, Riesel had strong showings from Addi Cope, who had 11 digs and two assists, and Avery Jackson, who had five assists and four digs.
Palmer's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Riesel, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-10.
Palmer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Centerville on the 21st. As for Riesel, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Chilton on the 21st.
