Softball Recap: Windber Triumphs

Windber is still undefeated this season after their contest against Southern Huntingdon County on Wednesday, but Southern Huntingdon County came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Ramblers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Rockets. The nine-run effort marked the Ramblers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The team relied heavily on Rylee Baer, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Mash, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Windber lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Windber's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Southern Huntingdon County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Windber will venture away from home to face off against Meyersdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will welcome Juniata Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
