Football Recap: Westinghouse Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Westinghouse's offense. They took a blow against the Simeon Wolverines on Saturday, falling 48-0. Having soared to a lofty 54 points in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Simeon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Bell led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and one score on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards Bell has posted since back in November of 2024. Lovell Smith was in the mix too, providing Simeon with two TDs.

Westinghouse's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Simeon, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Westinghouse is taking a road trip to take on Lane Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Champions' defense has only allowed 5.4 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Simeon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Phillips at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
