Baseball Recap: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Gets the Win

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond won the last time they faced Argenta-Oreana and things went their way on Monday too. The Knights skirted past the Bombers 5-3.

Marcus Otto was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Maxton Boddy was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Argenta-Oreana, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will take on St. Thomas More at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Argenta-Oreana, they will square off against Maroa-Forsyth at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
