Softball Recap: Segerstrom Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Segerstrom ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Valencia Tigers, sneaking past 9-7. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Samantha Padilla was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Allysa Chavez also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Segerstrom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 15.6.

Segerstrom's record now sits at 9-12. As for Valencia, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.
