Basketball Recap: Yucca Valley Comes Up Short

Yucca Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs, falling 71-50. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mighty Arabs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Joe Beltran was nothing short of spectacular for Coachella Valley: he went 7 for 11 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Lopez, who posted ten points and five steals.

Yucca Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Coachella Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Yucca Valley will venture away from home to challenge Twentynine Palms at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coachella Valley, they will host Indio at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
