Soccer Game Preview: Mountain House vs. Sierra

The Mountain House Mustangs will take on the Sierra Timberwolves at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain House, who comes in off a win.

Mountain House's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Oakdale with a sharp 5-0 victory. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mountain House yet this season.

They hit Oakdale with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jayden Lownes (2), Luis Gabriel Reynoso, Priyansh Nath, and Kushal Prakash.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Sierra was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to Patterson. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Tigers are ranked 68th).

Mountain House has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Mountain House came up short against Sierra in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, falling 2-0. Can Mountain House avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
