Addison Eyre and Olivia Campbell secure win for Fruita Monument

Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Palisade Bulldogs

The Fruita Monument Wildcats won the last time they faced the Palisade Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Fruita Monument took down Palisade 60-41. Given Fruita Monument's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Palisade is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fruita Monument was led to victory by Addison Eyre and Olivia Campbell. Eyre scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Campbell scored 30 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Palisade lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chloe Simons. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Lancaster, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.

Palisade struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win makes it two in a row for Fruita Monument and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Palisade, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Fruita Monument will be playing at home against Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grand Junction focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for Palisade, they will head out on the road to square off against Glenwood Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Glenwood Springs: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Palisade has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
