Preview: Watseka Warriors vs. Armstrong Trojans

Watseka is 6-0 against Armstrong since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Watseka Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Armstrong Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Watseka has 13 straight victories, Armstrong has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

In what's become a running theme this season, Watseka gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westville 59-18 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Watseka has posted since November 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Armstrong came up short against Oakwood on Friday and fell 46-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Armstrong in their matchups with Oakwood: they've now lost three in a row.

Watseka pushed their record up to 21-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Armstrong, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Watseka didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Armstrong when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 38-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Watseka since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
