Basketball Game Preview: Urbana Hillclimbers vs. Thurgood Marshall Cougars

The Urbana Hillclimbers will venture away from home to face off against the Thurgood Marshall Cougars at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Urbana has three straight victories, Thurgood Marshall has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Urbana beat Harvest Prep 50-45.

It was another big night for Peyton Mounce, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Her evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Olivia MacKendrick was another key player, putting up seven points.

Urbana was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvest Prep only racked up two assists.

Meanwhile, Thurgood Marshall played a tough matchup two weeks ago in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Wayne 56-18. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 768th, while the Warriors are ranked 166th).

Urbana's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Thurgood Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
