Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Sets Scoring Season-High Against Floyd Central

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Prestonsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Floyd Central Jaguars. The Blackcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Tussey, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Aaron Jarrell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Tussey wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Prestonsburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Prestonsburg's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Floyd Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Prestonsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against Floyd Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
