Softball Game Preview: Glenbard South Raiders vs. Glenbard North Panthers

The Glenbard South Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Glenbard North Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Glenbard South has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Glenbard South after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against IC Catholic Prep, falling 14-7.

Meanwhile, Glenbard North put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Oak Park-River Forest with a sharp 16-10 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gia Whelan was a standout: she fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Tru Medina was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Glenbard North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Park-River Forest only posted an OBP of .378.

Glenbard North's record is now 7-0. As for Glenbard South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Glenbard South came up short against Glenbard North when the teams last played back in April of 2019, falling 8-3. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
