Basketball Recap: Kilgore Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kilgore had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They managed a 56-51 victory over the Mabank Panthers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 876th, while the Panthers are ranked 337th).

Kilgore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for Mabank, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Coming up, Kilgore will challenge Paris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paris will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Kilgore surely won't give up without a fight. Mabank does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
