Volleyball Recap: Westlake Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sunny Mcwilliams and Kyrksen Cook

Westlake lost against Fulshear back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chaparrals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Kyrksen Cook and Sunny McWilliams certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Cook had 12 assists and five digs, while McWilliams had nine digs. Cook has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last five times she's played. Tatum Land also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Fulshear, they moved to 14-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Westlake will be playing in front of their home fans against Brandeis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fulshear, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Pearland on the 30th.
