Softball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Comes Up Short

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Benton Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since May 28th.

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Benton, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bobcats beat Vinton-Shellsburg by a score of 17-3 later that day.
