Football Game Preview: East Carter Raiders vs. Fleming County Panthers

The East Carter Raiders will take on the Fleming County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Fleming County will be up against a hot East Carter squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Raiders simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bath County 41-6. 41 seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Landon Yoak continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Yoak is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 142 every time he's taken the field this season.

Yoak was just one part of a punishing run game: East Carter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 356 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, while Fleming County put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Lewis County. The Panthers blew past the Lions 43-0. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Fleming County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for East Carter, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

East Carter was able to grind out a solid victory over Fleming County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 34-24. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
