Basketball Recap: Mendon's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of three wins, Mendon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-43 bruising from the Bellevue Broncos. The Hornets lost against the Broncos in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 89-34 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Mendon lost, don't look at Ryder Gorham. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Gorham has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Owen Gorham was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 15 points.

Mendon now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Bellevue, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendon will challenge Eau Claire at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellevue, they and Climax-Scotts will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
