The Evangel Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Calhan Bulldogs at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Evangel Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Calhan will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Evangel Christian Academy got the win against Elbert by a conclusive 15-3. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Anderson Schultz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Schultz was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landen Purdy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Levi Alexander, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Evangel Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elbert only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Calhan's offense. They lost 20-0 to Byers on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, Calhan's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Evangel Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Calhan, their defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3-2.
Calhan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Evangel Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .413. It's a different story for Calhan, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain Evangel Christian Academy's hitters?
