Asotin's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Pullman. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
SAM HALL and CODY ELLS were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, HALL pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, ELLS kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At bat, HALL got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while ELLS went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, COOPER THOMAS and CHASE ENGLE did most of the damage at the plate: THOMAS went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while ENGLE went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. COLT KELLEY was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Asotin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty on Thursday and fell 8-7.
Asotin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
