Preview: Athens Drive Jaguars vs. Enloe Eagles

Athens Drive has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Enloe Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Athens Drive is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Enloe in North Carolina (Athens Drive is ranked 281st, while Enloe is ranked 576th).

Athens Drive scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Sanderson as Athens Drive made off with a 61-36 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Athens Drive has posted yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Athens Drive to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kianna Gulley, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gulley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincie Toran, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Enloe, who are still winless after their 12th matchup. They were outmatched by Cardinal Gibbons on the road and fell 69-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Enloe in their matchups with Cardinal Gibbons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Athens Drive's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Enloe, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Athens Drive against Enloe when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 52-8 win. With Athens Drive ahead 29-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
