Basketball Game Preview: Stillwater Warriors vs. Hoosic Valley Hawks

The Stillwater Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Hoosic Valley Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Stillwater's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Last Tuesday, Stillwater took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-28 victory over Berlin. That 46 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Meanwhile, Hoosic Valley lost to Greenwich on the road by a 61-47 margin on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hawks came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Witches are ranked 409th).

Stillwater pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Hoosic Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.

Stillwater and Hoosic Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but Stillwater came up empty-handed after a 42-41 loss. Can Stillwater avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
