Recap: Hurricane Tigers vs. Canyon View Falcons
The Hurricane Tigers pushed their score all the way to 74 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon View. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Wednesday (56), Hurricane still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Hurricane had strong showings from Cayleb Jackman, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Rj Hurst, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Jackman scored a full 33.8% of Hurricane's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brigham Kemp, who scored nine points.
Hurricane's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Canyon View, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Hurricane will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Panguitch at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th. Panguitch will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Canyon View will finish 2023 at home by hosting Grantsville at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grantsville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
