Softball Recap: Brewer Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Brewer and Brunswick pushed the score to 17-2 the last time they played Brunswick, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Witches never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Witches sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The result came thanks to Sara Young's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paige Oakes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

Brewer's record now sits at 4-2. As for Brunswick, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brewer will take on Messalonskee at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Brunswick, they will challenge Medomak Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
