Lejeune is 0-10 against Pamlico County since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lejeune Devil Pups will look to defend their home field against the Pamlico County Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. Lejeune is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Lejeune's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Wilmington Christian Academy 10-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Devil Pups considering their two-run performance the game before.

The result came thanks to Molly McSorley's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Lainey Baldwin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kadence Gordon, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Lejeune was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilmington Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Pamlico County beat White Oak 9-4 on Friday. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Hailey Shamblin, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Payton Force was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Pamlico County pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Lejeune, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lejeune has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. However, it's not like Pamlico County struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lejeune suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Pamlico County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lejeune avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
