Baseball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots

The Corvian Community Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Corvian Community will be strutting in after a win while Piedmont Community Charter will be coming in after a loss.

Corvian Community gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Mountain Island Charter by a score of 6-3.

Dylan Behlke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Brennan Frey was incredible, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Connor Frey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 24 runs the game before, Piedmont Community Charter was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Hills Christian.

Corvian Community's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Corvian Community was able to grind out a solid win over Piedmont Community Charter in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
