Soccer Game Preview: Taravella vs. Nova

Taravella is 5-0 against Nova since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Taravella Trojans will head out to face off against the Nova Titans at 5:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Taravella is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Cypress Bay on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Lightning. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Lightning are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Nova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Cooper City, falling 8-0.

Nova's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Taravella, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Taravella was able to grind out a solid victory over Nova in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taravella since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
