Football Recap: Octorara Area's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Octorara Area had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 4-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Northern Lebanon Vikings with a sharp 56-31 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their 13-point performance the contest before.

Mason Prokay was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 166 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Octorara Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brayden Mastrippolito, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for Northern Lebanon, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Northern Lebanon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryan Mitzel, who threw for 239 yards and five TDs, and Ryan Clemmer, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three scores. Clemmer was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards.
