Basketball Game Preview: Patton Panthers vs. East Rutherford Cavaliers

Patton is 0-6 against East Rutherford since January of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Patton Panthers will take on the East Rutherford Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Patton challenged Draughn on Monday. Patton came up short against Draughn, falling 52-28. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-19, which was the final score in East Rutherford's tilt against Hibriten on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Panthers are ranked 84th).

Patton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for East Rutherford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Patton was dealt a bruising 62-13 defeat at the hands of East Rutherford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Patton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
