Basketball Recap: South Dade Takes a Loss

South Dade suffered their biggest defeat since February 6th on Saturday. They lost 65-40 to the Coral Reef Barracudas. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buccaneers have suffered against the Barracudas since November 26, 2019.

Coral Reef got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Angel Santos out in front who posted 14 points. That's the most points Santos has posted since back in January. Gianmarco Altare was another key player, putting up 11 points.

South Dade's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for Coral Reef, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

While South Dade had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
