Basketball Game Preview: Gig Harbor Tides vs. Lincoln Abes

The Gig Harbor Tides will venture away from home to take on the Lincoln Abes at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gig Harbor is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They were dealt an 86-40 defeat at the hands of North Thurston. The Tides have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lincoln lost to Bellarmine Prep on the road by a 65-50 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Abes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Lions are ranked 50th).

Lincoln now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Gig Harbor, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Gig Harbor came up short against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in January, falling 43-38. Can Gig Harbor avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
