Volleyball Game Preview: Niwot Cougars vs. Longmont Trojans

The Niwot Cougars will square off against the Longmont Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Niwot is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 30th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Monarch. The shutout was out of character for the Cougars seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 26-24, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Longmont came up short against Legacy on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 25-15.

Longmont now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Niwot, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Niwot was able to grind out a solid victory over Longmont when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
