Softball Recap: Sheboygan North Has No Trouble Against Sheboygan South

Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Golden Raiders blew past the Redwings 18-3. With that victory, the Golden Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Haley Bergstrom was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last nine matchups. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jadyn Jetzer was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Wagner, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Sheboygan North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan South only posted a batting average of .125.

Sheboygan North's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for Sheboygan South, they are on a 38-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Sheboygan North has already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Pulaski on the 12th. As for Sheboygan South, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 loss against Bay Port on the 12th.
