Basketball Game Preview: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Kirtland Hornets

The Harvey Red Raiders just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Kirtland Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Harvey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

Harvey is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lakeside 98-72 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Red Raiders have posted since January 23, 2024.

Harvey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deontae Ware out in front who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Ware a new career-high in assists (four). Eryck McClain was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Harvey smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Kirtland suffered their biggest loss since December 23, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 60-40 to Jefferson Area. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Hornets' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Harvey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points over those games. As for Kirtland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.
