Basketball Game Preview: Caldwell Academy Eagles vs. High Point Christian Academy Cougars

Caldwell Academy hasn't had much luck against High Point Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Caldwell Academy Eagles will look to defend their home court against the High Point Christian Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Caldwell Academy's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so High Point Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, Caldwell Academy made easy work of Triad Baptist Christian Academy and carried off a 61-39 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, High Point Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Greensboro Day School 70-38. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Bengals are ranked 37th).

High Point Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Caldwell Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Caldwell Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against High Point Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory.
