It was fun while it lasted, but Harding County's undefeated season came to an end after 21 games on Thursday. They fell 61-50 to the St. Mary Cardinals. The loss put an end to the Ranchers' undefeated start to the season.

Harding County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kamry Padden, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Macey Wendt, who scored eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Harding County fell to 21-1. As for St. Mary, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.

Harding County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-48 defeat against Lyman on the 14th. As for St. Mary, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-43 loss against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on the 14th.
