Basketball Recap: Martinsburg Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Martinsburg Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Independent Baptist Academy Kings 69-27. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Kings from their previous meeting back in February.

Scott Sisco was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards for Independent Baptist Academy. Sisco is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Rainey, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points along with six boards and three steals.

Martinsburg Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Independent Baptist Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

While Martinsburg Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
