Basketball Game Preview: Buena Bulldogs vs. San Marcos Royals

The Buena Bulldogs will head out to challenge the San Marcos Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Buena has struggled recently with ten defeats in a row, while San Marcos will arrive with three straight wins.

Buena fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Pacifica on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tritons by a score of 82-80. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, San Marcos didn't have too much trouble with Dos Pueblos on Wednesday as they won 57-42. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly 15 points.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for San Marcos, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Buena ended up a good deal behind San Marcos when the teams last played on January 10th, losing 70-53. Can Buena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
